EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW...

Lash Shedding and Infills

Our natural lashes grow, just like our nails. This means that your new set of lashes will start to look less full over the upcoming weeks. It is recommended that after 2 - 3 weeks, you attend a maintenance appointment; known as 'infills'. This helps to keep your lashes look their best. After any lash appointment, you will start to notice the extensions naturally shedding every day, along with your natural lashes. Do not be alarmed, as this is perfectly normal. Our natural lashes shed every day, although we may not always notice them. Do not worry about falling lashes within the first 24 hours as it is normal to loose around 5 lashes from each eye whilst the lashes settle into place.

It is estimated that:

After 7 days, you will loose around 21 extensions.

After 14 days, you will loose around 42 extensions.

After 21 days, you will loose around 63 extensions.

Therefore, after 3 weeks you may loose over half of your full set. This is why there is a 2 - 3 week time frame recommended for all lash infill appointments. Taking this into consideration; all clients that return for a lash infill appointment must have at least 50% of their set remaining, otherwise this will be classed as a full set and the fee for this will apply. Clients that attempt to return for an infill appointment outside of the recommended time frame, will be charged for a full set.

At The Glam Room, we use several types of lashes, to suit everyone's needs. We offer each types of lashes in a C curl and a D curl. This is to ensure that by using one or both types of curl for your treatment, the best result is achieved for your desired look.

AFTERCARE

Committed to keeping your lashes full and fluttery

Immediately following your lash appointment it is extremely important that you not let your lashes come into any contact with water for the first 24 hours. Retention issues may occur if you do so.

After ensuring the lashes remain dry for the first 24 hours, thereafter it is recommended to gently pat the lashes dry if they become wet after showering or swimming, etc.

If makeup can be avoided around the eye area, then it is recommended due to the build up this causes along the lash line and the disturbance during makeup removal.

If makeup is worn whilst wearing lash extensions, this should not be removed with any products containing oil, as this will cause the adhesive to break down, resulting in retention issues.

If possible avoid saunas/steam rooms as these can also affect lash retention.
